About Big Ink

Summary

Big Ink has been a major supplier of LFDP Equipment and Supplies in Kwazulu-Natal for more than 13 years. Big Ink is a value added reseller of Hewlett Packard, Mutoh, and Epson Large Format Printers. We also provide full support for the products we sell. We also supply many substrates and inks for inkjet, solvent and latex printers. Another part of our business is providing Colour Management Services, such as media and printer profiling, with our state of the art equipment and software, as well as supplying and supporting inkjet proofers to the print industry, using EFI Colourproof XF software.

Company Ownership

Big Ink is a closed corporation that was established in 1995. Mr.Ferguson is currently the sole member, however staff is always encouraged to participate in all decisions that will affect the wellbeing and growth of the business.

Company History

We were originally established as a Large Format Print provider in the early days. There were very few LFDP providers at the time, however we wanted to increase the market, and decided to start selling equipment and consumables to increase the large format digital print market. In the early days we were selling Encad printers, inks and media, which we were very successful with. We then moved into the Solvent Ink arena, and installed some of the first solvent printers, such as the Mutoh Albatross, and Mutoh Toucan. We now also market HP's LATEX INK printers which have are selling very successfully, due to the "Eco/Green" requirements by many companies today.

Company Locations and Facilities

Big Ink is located in a large converted house close to a suburban shopping area on Durban's Berea. Our location is conveniently central, so access to the North, South and Western areas is easy. We have a Service Workshop, Offices, Store and Showroom area. We share our premises with two other companies in the Healthcare field.
